The Peripheral Visionaries

The Barn , 4910 West Saanich Road, Saanich, BC

The Peripheral Visionaries play an eclectic mix of standards, country swing, and jazzy tunes from the 1920's to the 60's, and some originals thrown in just for fun. Tony Turner on guitar, Mike Sadava on mando and lap steel, Arlene (AJ) Carson on piano and accordion, and Tony DiGregorio on standup bass. Plus awesome 3-part harmonies! Attendance is by donation (suggested $20) or any amount suits your pocketbook.

I am happy to be the featured performer kicking off the first post-lockdown season of the Nanaimo Folk Connection. This time I get to play in a trio format with Arlene Carson on accordion, piano & supporting vocals and Joe Spinelli on upright bass. The evening starts with an open mic segment, a refreshment break and then I hit the stage at about 8:15 pm . Only $5 to get in (pay at the door). There is ample parking on site.

Crop Circle Concert & Fundraiser

The Cline Farm, 2090 Skaha Rd., Nanaimo

Crop Circle is a new annual summertime celebration of music, arts, culture, inclusion and local food, hosted on a historic Nanaimo farm. This year the event is launching with two talent-packed concerts on Saturday, August 6th.

There will be 10 concerts running from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Crop Circle is co-presented by Growing Opportunities Farm Community Cooperative and the Nanaimo Association for Community Living. Join us on the Cline Agri-Health Centre Farm for this special concert series and learn more about our programs that provide skills training and work experience for people with barriers to employment, and nutritious food for people who need it.

The debut of Vancouver's Island's newest trio featuring some of my tunes as well as surprising takes on old gems from the 1930's to 60's. Singer-songwriter and excellent guitarist Shawna Caspi open the show. You gotta be there for the big launch. I am thrilled to be the featured performer at the Victoria Folk Music Society's weekly coffee house. Joining me will be Arlene Carson on accordion and supporting vocals. As per decades of tradition the 7:30 Open stage will be followed by the feature slot that will start at 9 pm. Admission is a mere $7.00 for folks over 16 and free for all others, including VFMS members.
