Gil's Hootenanny

First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa, 30 Cleary Ave, Ottawa

Gil’s Hootenanny, Ottawa’s annual community singalong, celebrates songs of hope and protest with exuberant audience participation. Names in Honour of late labour activist Gil Levine, the entertainment for folks of all ages. GSA hootenanny traces its roots back to folk legends Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie who popularized hootenannies in the mid 20th century. My protest song "Harperman" has it's first public performance at Gils Hootenanny in 2015 and went on to performed at rallies across the country. I will be leading singalong of known or easily learned songs of hope and protest during evening. It's gonna be fun! Checkout out: https://gilshootenanny.ca for details as they are made available. Tickets are $20
